Biography:

 

Kyoungmin(Maria) Park, from Seoul, South Korea, holds Bachelor degree in violin performance from Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with Ivan Zenaty. Previously, Maria attended Kyungwon University in South Korea and Windsor Young soloist in England, and performed Tchaikovsky violin concerto with Go-Yang Philharmonic Orchestra. During her CIM years, Maria was a member of the Commodore quartet which made it to the semifinalist at Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. As a quartet, Maria has worked and performed with members of the Cleveland, Juilliard, Tokyo, Brentano, Emerson, Takacs, Daedalus quartets and Albers Trio. Maria also performed for NPR’s radio show “Say’s You” with her quartet and received the James and Lola Faust Chamber Music Scholarship from Mu Phi Epsilon in 2014. Maria has attended Banff Chamber Music Residency, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and National Repertory Orchestra for summer festivals. Currently, Maria is pursuing her Masters degree in violin performance at Carnegie Mellon University with Andres Cardenes from 2016. In addition to music, she enjoys cooking, playing piano and dancing.
