Contribute Securities
Supporters who wish to contribute marketable securities can do so by having them transferred to the Foundation’s brokerage account. Securities contributed to the Foundation ordinarily are tax-deductible in an amount equal to their value as of the date of transfer. To arrange for a contribution of securities, contact us.
Donate an Instrument
Instruments donated to the Foundation are evaluated and placed with a young musician for whom the instrument is suitable. Instrument donors receive a tax benefit equal to the value of the donation. The Foundation, through Scholarships, loans quality cellos, violins and violas to advanced students, and, through gifts, supports string music teaching programs serving children in economically depressed inner-city areas. Any playable instrument donated will find a home with a deserving young musician. Legacy Scholarships may be created to honor individuals or causes. If you wish to discuss donating an instrument, contact us.
Loan an Instrument
The Foundation will accept, by loan, instruments suitable for advanced level young musicians. No tax benefits accrue upon the loan of an instrument but instrument owners receive the great satisfaction of seeing their fine instruments benefit a young musician. Instruments loaned to the Foundation are fully insured, annually inspected and carefully maintained. On the Foundation’s website, Patrons who loan a Scholarship instrument may follow the activities and career of the musician with whom the instrument has been placed. Legacy Scholarships may be created to honor individuals or causes. If you wish to discuss loaning a Scholarship quality instrument, contact us.
