Biography:
Susan Bengtson (violist) is a passionate performer and music educator. Currently a Doctorate of Musical Arts candidate studying viola performance with Michelle LaCourse at Boston University, Ms. Bengtson graduated in 2016 with a BM from Jeffrey Irvine’s studio, and in 2018 with a MM from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music where she served as Helen Callus’ graduate assistant. During the 2017-18 season, she performed as a violist with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. In September 2018, she became a seated member of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra.
A native of Richland, Washington, Bengtson’s musical career has led her across the nation and the globe, performing as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician everywhere from Copenhagen to Hong Kong, and Cambridge to Aspen.
