Magdiell Jesus Antequera Chirinos

Biography:

 

Born in Venezuela, Magdiell started his musical studies at the age of 8 in the Regional Youth Orchestra system of Falcon State. He started his solo experience at the age of 10 in the Orquesta Sinfónica de Falcón. He was a member of a quintet formed by the Professor Mileyde Valera, which, in Caracas, performed for José Antonio Abreu, Claudio Abbado and the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra. Magdiell has participated in the Latin-American Violin Academy summer courses, where between 2007 and 2011 he studied under Rio Sanchez, Iraida Mora, Mercedes Salazar, Francisco Caban (Puerto Rico), José Francisco Del Castillo and Victor Vivas. He has participated in master classes with teachers: José Francisco Del Castillo, Iván Pérez, Domingo García Hindoyan, Richard Biaggini, Victor Vivas, Sergio Celis, Tarcicio Barreto, Edgar Aponte and Mihaela Martin (master of the Superior School of Geneva). Madgiell competed for and joined The Children’s National Orchestra of Venezuela, which is led by distinguished teachers such as: Sir Simon Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel and Daniel Barenboim. He was named second violin in the Orquesta Sinfónica de Falcón. He has received classes at the Latin-American Violin Academy with Sergio Celis. Currently he is a student at Shattuck St. Mary’s School in Faribault Minnesota and he is studying with Ms. Sally O’Reilly. Madgiell plays on a contemporary violin made by Shan Jiang in 2004 on loan from the Virtu Foundation.
