Kayleigh Kim

Biography:

 

Kayleigh Kim is 16 years old and is a student of Catherine Cho and Francesca de-
Pasquale in the Juilliard Pre-College program. She is also a National Symphony Orchestra
Youth Fellow. Kayleigh will be competing in the junior category of the Menuhin
Competition in 2021 and has also won 1st place in the Richmond Symphony Concerto
Competition, MTNA VA State competition in 2017 and 2018, NVMTA Concerto Competition
in 2018 and 2019, Metropolitan Music Festival, Montgomery Symphony Orchestra
Concerto Competition, and Indiana University Summer String Academy Concerto
Competition. Additionally, she was a 1st prize winner and a recipient of a tutorial scholarship
in the Joseph & Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition. She was part of
Maryland Youth Classic Orchestra and has served as a concertmaster from 2015 to
2019. Most recently, she had the privilege of performing a duet arrangement of the Star
Spangled Banner at Nationals Park in July of 2019 and 2020 for an MLB game. She
has attended the Interharmony Music Festival, the HeifetzPEG program, the Indiana
University Summer String Academy, the Summit Music Festival, and the Heifetz Institute,
with whom she joined for their Holiday Performance Tour in 2019. Kayleigh has
played in masterclasses with renowned violinists such as Hilary Hahn, Shirley Givens,
Jonathan Carney, Paul Huang, Mark Kaplan, and Aaron Rosand, and has performed at
Carnegie Hall, Strathmore Hall, Strathmore Mansion, the Taipei Economic and Cultural
Representative Office at Twin Oaks, Merkin Hall, and the Kennedy Center Millennium
Stage.
