Diana Milk-Batista

Biography:

 

Diana is a senior at Columbia University working towards a concentration in environmental science. She is from Austin, Texas. Her current instructor is Louis Kosma and she is thankful for the Scholarship because it will allow her to play the instrument she loves and help her continue her musical education. She has been a member of many orchestras including the Austin Youth Orchestra, TMEA Region 18 All-Region Orchestra, and the Columbia University Orchestra. In addition to her orchestra experience, she has competed in solo competitions such as the AISD Solo and Ensemble Competition and has participated in master classes during her time in the Hill Country Bass Camp. She has also been a part of chamber ensembles through the Austin Chamber Music Center’s Summer Workshop, performed as part of a small ensemble at the 2020 AISD Latino Academic Achievement Awards, and was in the orchestra pit for the Liberal Arts and Science Academy’s production of Legally Blonde the Musical. She has played a variety of musical styles including Bluegrass and Cumbia.
