Scholar Brandon Keith Brown’s Conducting Career Advances1/27/2009Brandon Keith Brown is a Virtu Scholar with a violin Scholarship but his prime interest is in the development of a career in conducting. In January, 2009, he traveled to Mexico to study with conductor Gustav Meier and the Chihuahua Symphony Orchestra. In February he will be conducting his first opera, Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutti, with the University of Missouri at Kansas City Conservatory Opera Theatre. In the summer of 2009 Brandon will be traveling to Aspen, Colorado, where he will be a conducting fellow at the American Academy of Conducting under David Zinman and Murry Sidlin. Mr. Brown was one of 17 selected to attend the Academy from almost 250 applicants.
