Oded Kishony Places Cello with Foundation

Oded Kishony, a renowned violinmaker from Barboursville, Virginia, has made one of his outstanding instruments, a cello, available to a Virtu Scholar. The cello, based on the piccolo Strad (De Munck) model, will be placed with one of the recent winners of the Virtu Foundation Scholarship Competition. Mr. Kishony has been a long-time friend and supporter of the Foundation and has done extensive work in maintain the Foundation’s instruments. In addition to his violinmaking activities, Mr. Kishony has conducted highly innovative research into the acoustical properties of Stradivarius instruments.
