Foundation receives loan of Douglas C. Cox viola.

1/10/2012

Distinguished violin and viola maker Douglas C. Cox of Brattleboro, Vermont has loaned to the Foundation a viola for placement to a Virtu Scholar.  The viola is a copy of an instrument made in 1800 by Baptista Ceruti of Cremona, Italy.  Douglas Cox has a long history of providing instruments for young musicians whose lack of resources makes it difficult to have an instrument equal to their potential.  The viola has been place with Rick Neff who studies with Roland Vamos at Northwestern University. Information on Cox instruments can be found at: www.coxviolins.com.
