Brandon Brown's Conducting Career Advances

Brandon Brown, who in addition to being a Virtu Scholar (violin) is pursuing a career in conducting, reports that as he is completing his first year of study at Peabody he has been appointed to serve as apprentice for Lorin Maazel at the Castleton Fesival in Virginia in the summer of 2010.  He will conduct in master class readings, assist with opera productions and conduct alongside Maazel in a concert.  He will also conduct the Omaha Symphony Chamber Orchestra in a program for emerging conductors (May, 2010) and be a covering conductor for the Baltimore Symphony in concerts with Kathleen Battle.
